Sightsee, Swim, Walk or just Relax

Antiques & Brocante – there are several places in the area to search for antiques and charming French bric-a-brac. Especially nice is the Coin du Passé in Castera-Verduzan. From May through to October there are village brocante or vide-grenier sales where you can often find different, interesting pieces.

Bullfighting – the Gersoise, with their Spanish heritage, enjoy bullfighting and most towns have an arena where a bullfight or the kinder Course Landaise takes place at least once in the summer months.

Casino - opened in November 2000, Castéra-Verduzan now hosts a gambling Casino as well as its newly refurbished thermal centre.

Golf - there is a choice of 9 and 18-hole golf courses. The closest is Golf du Guinlet, 15 mins away, near Eauze, a pretty wooded course. Auch has a challenging course with a good restaurant with terrace and panoramic views of the Pyrenees . The golf course at Chateau Pallane, near Marciac is also challenging and a lovely setting.

Horse-riding - there is a riding school near Manciet, Domaine de Haget offering schooling and hacking through the countryside.

Motor racing – the track at Nogaro is well known for Formula 3000, motorbike and 4 by 4 racing from April to October.

Tennis – courts are available at Gondrin, Eauze and Condom.

Thermal Centres - for a day of sheer pampering and relaxation, there is a choice of three thermal centers nearby at Lectoure, Castéra-Verduzan and Barbotan-les-Thermes.

Vert en l'Air - is a tree-top acrobatic park with challenges suitable for all ages at Pavie, close to Auch.

George and Gemma in the PyreneesWalking and Cycling – the area is great for walking and cycling with undulating but not too challenging routes. Cycling, walking routes and bicycles are available. Walking in the Pyrenees is spectacular and there are also over 1500km of walking and cycling routes in the area.   Bicycles can be hired at locations in the Pyrenees for cross-country cycling.  Saint Jacques de Compostelle: there are two long distance footpaths crossing the Gers which form part of this famous pilgrimage route. One route passes close by Le Vieux Presbytère between Condom and Eauze, continuing south to cross the Pyrenees and finally ending in Santiago , North West Spain .

Water Sports - several water-sport lakes offer sailing, water skiing and windsurfing as well as water slides, pleasure boats and sandy beaches. The village of Gondrin , 15mins away, has an enormous swimming pool with water slides and trampoline – great fun, safe place for children.

Winter Sports - resorts in the Pyrenees offer excellent winter sports facilities including downhill and cross-country skiing and snowboarding. Or at Issarbe take a sleigh ride pulled by a pack of dogs!
